:( Not sure If i'm making the right progress..

My diet / lifestyle has changed dramatically though. First, I try to get at least 6 hrs of solid sleep whether work allows me to or not. (I try..at least)

Second, my diet consists of scrambled eggs, oatmeal, celery, carrot sticks, spinach, whole wheat bread, cheese, yogurt, and thats about it. i RARELY eat out now, save for the occasional chipotle burrito..that's my vice :hsd: I'd like to also add that I don't eat meat....never have.

Finally, I added protein shakes 3-4x a day.

My workout routine is also as follows:

    m-F, I hit cardio for 45min - 1 hr at 5:30 am

I then hit the gym for weights at 6:30 PM for an additional hour.

Although it doesnt look like it, I have put on some muscle mass. However, my weight has maintained at around 175-176 lbs. As for the body fat percentages, I'm assuming they're off. The guy at the gym uses that electronic one, and i'm not sure how accurate they really are.

any advice at ALL would be much appreciated :hsd: I've been keeping this new routine up for ~5 months...the 1st 5 months, I just worked out once a day. I jsut can't seem to get rid of the fat.....:(

    ....help? :wtc:

caliper readings may be especially inaccurate on you because you appear to really store an excessive amount of fat in the midsection. I'd guess both #'s are about 5% low. But you do appear to be making progress with the fat loss.

count how many calories you eat for a day. if its above 2300 look to size down something. could slow down your toning process

You look a lot better, no matter what the scales and calipers say. Nice work man.

look exactly the same only smaller stomach

Lift more, more HIIT and cardio, eat healthy. Keep up the good work though.

edit: looks like you're already working out, doing cardio, and eating healthy. Count your cals, and perhaps switch up your lifting routine to better suit your needs (obviously you want to gain muscle mas to burn more calories and look good if that's what you're interested in)

Are you saying that you are doing cardio M-F for an hour and then hitting the weights M-F for an hour?

That seems a bit much to me.

I would look through the routines sticky at the top of the forum but a three day split of weights with a light cardio warm-up and cardo(perhaps HIIT) on the other days would probably do more to help you put on muscle and lose weight.

Overall you're looking better but it seems like you should have a little more muscle mass after 10 months.

Are you actually counting your calories, or just guessing?

Agree with etech- sounds like a shitload of cardio, you can make decent progress just lifting a little heavier, eating better and half that amount of cardio.

    that's right.....in fact, i'm about to head out to run right now..and it's 5:30 am :o

i'll look thru the routines...would doing cardio 5-6x a week actually SLOW me down?

Feck yes, if you're trying to put on muscle. And if you've been doing that level of volume for 10 months..you may need a couple of rest weeks. You're probably a wee bit over-trained.

you have put on muscle and it shows... you have lost fat and it shows... time to step it up now and count your calories... make sure you get a decent amount of protein 1-1.5g per pound of bodyweight while eating fewer calories. You'll lose weight and maintain your muscle mass. :coold:

    :hs: thanks, but...

elfling's comment got me a bit concerned. :(

have i really been slowing myself down by hitting it hard for 5-6x a week? will 3-4x be sufficient?
