Looks like its starting to get popular or for what I want to do. I have a few questions but first does anyone do it. Anyone run on macs and program?

    What language?
    What software do you use?
Anything else you can think of?

Well my issues right now is trying to set up my mac to develop rubyonrails. The tutorial is confusing me.

Plus I am trying to set it up on dreamhost which is confusing me as well.

Nothing wrong with OSX as a programming environment. It's BSD enough to work pretty well. I know lots of CS people who use Macs full time.

Most other developers in my company use windoze, we get along most of the time... until some jackass puts in some imports for windoze-specific shit.

Eclipse is the king of IDEs, on OS X and on... anything.

I used to do Java/SWT/JFace/Eclipse development full time on OS X. Now I do Perl/Catalyst development full time on OS X. There were some problems with SWT on OS X, but they're mostly fixed. And there were problems with many CPAN perl libraries for the Intel macs, but those are mostly fixed too.

There is a steep learning curve to Ruby, or to any framework. Just hang in there. Baby steps. Once you know it, is when your productivity soars.
