I've tweaked my diet a lot over the past few months and I guess the biggest thing is I'm unsure exactly what I need to do to reach my goals.

Oatmeal packet, shake with fat free milk
    4 egg whites, orange
    Chicken or ground turkey-wheat tortilla
    (gym)
    shake with milk
Chicken or ground turkey-wheat tortilla and broccoli
    shake

I'm 6'5"/265 (higher bf%) and I do about an hour of weights and two hours of cardio a day (40-60 elliptical, 1-1/2 basketball) - 5 days a week.

I guess what I'm worried about is that my goals are pretty much cancelling each other out. I want to lose fat, but I want to build a little muscle as I'm doing it (not exactly bulking though). I just don't want to be wasting time so thought I'd throw it out there.

    Flame away....:o

    ok...

well it is very difficult to build muslce and drop fat at the same time, it is better to pick one and concentrate on it. I'd say diet until you get to 12-14% bf then focus on building muscle.

That might be better cuz I'm pretty uncomfortable with the idea of 'bulking' right now. It goes against every thought process I've ever had.

I'll still do the weights obviously, but just know I won't be gaining much muscle.

do what GT said, but keep lifting weights. You can still get stronger especially if you are a beginner to lifting

    yea...

You can still get stronger when cutting but don't expect to build mass. Lifting will help you maintain what muscle you do have so you will look better when you drop the bf compared to jsut doing a bunch of cardio.
