GAG!!! I do not like it at all. No offense to those that do. I would rather a '3-'04 GT.

Wow! Can Ford look any more desperate grasping at past glory as Toyota blows by them into the #2 spot?

i mean, just from a historical point of view, the new mustang has been in devlopment for a few years, loooong before toyota ever replaced them at #2

^^^spot on. No, Ford is loosing ground because of their insular culture and refusal to go after open minded talent. Ford keeps making retro cars in hopes people will rememeber them when they didn't suck. Toyota has passed Ford and as long as Ford keeps living in the past, Toyota will not have have to worry.

    hmmm
well, whether that is true or not, i would gte that mustang over any toyota in the current line up
reason why i hate toyota: they have no cool or exciting cars, none
to me, they have taken bland and boring and refined it to a new art form, of course that is what sells i guess

more people should be into performance cars. seriously :wtc:

No fucking way! Ford isn't looking for sales numbers from a niche market of 60's car lovers, there looking for a majority # from people that are looking for some original looking designs. More and more cars are looking to similiar. The 67/68/69 stang styling was/is a popular and an original design.

Oh, and Toyota has nothing in the same class as the Mustang so that is irrelevant. A fraction of Fords sales come from the Mustang.

hey.. that's actually not too bad. I dont know why, but i've liked the older looks of the mustangs. that looks like they redesigned the front clip of an old mustang and threw it on a modified early 2000s body.

i stll wouldn't buy it though.. its a ford.

Please get a clue. It doesn't matter if Toyota has a direct challenger to the Mustang. Toyota doesn't need it. Toyota is making enough sales with other cars so they don't care how bad Ford makes the Stang. Toyota will continue to have a larger market share since it makes higher quality products (instead of just saying they do - Quality is Job #1! Yeah right! Whatever.....) and what people want. Ford is dying. It need not be, but as long as they continue with their insular and closeminded structure, then they will continue to fail. This Mustang is just another in a string of grasps at past glory. We'll see if anyone buys into it.

Christ, how do you people revel in being so dense! I don't drive a Toyota but they make what people want. They are an innovative company that pushes their designs forward (although I personally find them fugly). Toyota shows no signs of slowing down or appealing to the greatness of their past as their best days lie ahead.

Yet, Ford now makes a third car with a grasp at past glory. The T-Bord has been a dismal failure. The GT is a limited production grab at attention. And, now we have the Mustang. There was NOTHING wrong with the current design theme. In fact, its one of the best looking Mustangs ever. And, as for Ford being an insular company, if anyone bothered to read then you would know this is 100% factual.

So, me trolling? Nope, I'm just telling you like it is.

Moron, why would Ford wanna keep making the same design over and over again? The Mustang has been on the same chassis platform for well over 20 years now. Its old, Ford knows it, and they're moving on. If you can't take a risk moving forward, you shouldn't be making cars at all. Its a part of business.

    Toyota blows.
