I just installed Windows XP onto our computer, we originally had 98 on there, so I just did the update. Well, now my sound card won't work, I'm getting no sound whatsoever. I went to Philips website and downloaded the drivers for XP. It told me to uninstall the sound card, then reinstall it and it would recognize the new drivers, seems simple enough. The problem is, it won't let me uninstall the sound card, everytime I try to do it, it just says "This may take a few minutes" but it freezes and I have to end task. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

You really should have saved all your data off site and formatted. The differences between 98 and xp are to great.

Take the sound card out > boot up completely and try to get rid of everything that has to do with it. Shut down plug the sound card back in and install drivers.
