I just finished putting my new computer together, but I neglected to download the necessary Windows updates to keep things relatively protected, system-wise.

Recently, msconfig and Task Manager close after a fraction of a second after I open them. I've searched on Google for solutions to the problem, but doing what most solutions say, ie. (free anti-virus scanning from McAfee and PandaScan, running SpyBot Search & Destroy), I've still got the problem and it's come to the point where I've got to bother OT with it.

If anyone can help me out with this problem, it would be much appreciated. :x:

Usually when that happens it is a virus. Basically the virus doesn't want you to know it's running, so it shuts down those programs.

Try avg, if that doesn't work, pull the drive out and toss it into another computer, turn off the system restore on that drive and run whatever virus scan that computer has on it.
