Problem with my 19" CRT

    It has these weird scanlines that run down the screen on certain refresh rates and resolutions like if i put my resolution to 1280x1024 with 85 hz then I would have scanlines but if I put my refresh rate to 60 hz on 1280x1024 then I wouldn't have scanlines, I can't even use my max resolution on it because of the scanlines.

    Do you have fluorescent lightbulbs in the area? That will do it.

    Repeated degaussing doesn't help either?

    I got nothin'. Maybe try a different VGA cable? :dunno:

    cell phone close to the monitor? correct drivers loaded for the monitor?

    For the good ones, yes. They mostly amount to exact specifications instead of general ones.

    kinda. They are more like "color profiles". Basically fine-tune a few things here and there. Nothing major, and no problems will arise from not using one.
