Everytime i curl bars my whole forearm has a severe, sharp pain to it, and it's really starting to irritate me. I've been working out with the pain for almost half a year now and i can't do it anymore, it just hurts too much everytime i put the bar down. It feels like it's the bone that hurts, and it's from my wrist to about half way up to my elbow. I can bench and everything just fine, but when i lift heavy stuff and when i curl it hurts like a mother fucker. Anybody know why it's happening or how i can prevent it from happening?? thanks in advance.

umm, you need to go to an orthopedist and get an mri. there are several possibilities:

    1. a tear in a tendon or ligament
    2. irritation of the periosteum, the membrane that surrounds the bones
    3. a tear in the attachment of tendons/ligaments to bone
    4. irritation of the tendon/ligament sheaths themselves.

you just need to get it checked out. these types of problems are easily corrected at the onset, but you've set it go on for a while, so it may not be easily corrected.

Hammer dumbell curls take the strain off my forearms when curling, my gym also has a hammer curl bar. Ez curl should take some off too.

Sharp severe pain,,,,,,,,,,,GO TO A DOCTOR!!!! It may be something easily fixed and you can get back to lifting. or it's something serious and will only get worse if you don't have it taken care of, just GO TO A DOCTOR to save yourself the pain bro. If you do go to a Dr. Let us know what it was ok
