ok, i dunno why, but my computer messes up the color of icons. Here are 2 examples:

in this one it makes the image less sharp which is the 1st and less important problem

but this one shows how it also really messes up the color. Now i'm running my moniter at true color (32 bit) so i don't know how to fix it.

the only thing i've seen that could possible affect this would be the monitor profile, but i have no idea what that is so i don't relaly want to play. It's set to EV700 right now, which is my moniter model. i've tried gooogle to no avail. Any help(if even a pitty bump) is GREATLY appericated. Thanks a bunch.

My computer at work messes icons up seriously sometimes (like they're not even recognizable... The monitor seems to be fine, so I think it's probably a RAM problem or something (old, slow, shitty computer that is in serious need of a reinstall).

I have no idea, the RAM thing is a total guess on my part. However, if the computer is 5 years old, it could be anything. My home machine is about that age too, and occaisionally it just does weird things, and I have no idea why... Someone who actually knows about graphics will probably have a real answer for you ;)

You DO have a video card.. it may just be onboard. If you didn't, WTF do you plugin your video cable for the monitor? :slap:

If the computer is 5 years old and you are having quality issues, it's a video card issue. It may be the RAM on the card, but thats not worth replacing. Just replace the video card with something cheap.. like a 16mb or 32mb card.

I would reinstall before you go out buying new hardware.

What is your color depth set at?

:werd: It sounds like you bought the computer used, in which case a full re-install is definetely required (if you haven't already).

That is not a hardware error. That is a setup problem. It is saying the monitor profile is defective, not the monitor itself.

Probably the advanced tab of the display settings dialog box.
