My friends computer was on while the power went out at his house tonight. He called me up and asked me to check into why his computer wouldn't turn on after the power came back on. I stopped by and reset the CMOS by the jumper on the mobo. This seemed to fix the problem, as the computer rebooted and everything was good. Here's the weird part... If you shut the computer down, it will turn back on just fine. But, if you shut the computer down and unplug it from the wall, you then have to reset the CMOS again in order for it to turn on. I've never seen anything like this before, any ideas as to possible causes?
