Every time I go to certain websites my browser just closes by itself. Could java be a reason? One of the sites I went to was comcast.net. It was fine until I went to the part where I can upload files to my webspace, which has a java interface.

Ah shit, I knew I forgot to mention something.

I'm running XP with IE 6. I also tried to access these websites with Opera (registered) and had the same problem. Although with Opera it just gives this error:

Opera Internet Browser has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

With the usual Send or Don't Send options.

Could be a Java problem... Maybe try with Netscape/Mozilla with the Sun Java plugin installed... Remember, MS has been having licensing issues with Java lately.

I went into IEs Options and turned off Java and that solved the problem...I wonder why it acted up all of a sudden though.
