i have a 2.4 macbook pro and i recently bought a 32" TV with a native resolution of 1366 x 768, but that is not listed as an option on the mac, is there a way to update the driver or force it into a resolution or am i just SOL?

What happens when you hit the "Detect displays" button? The MBP only supports the resolutions listed in the System Preferences so you'll have to find the one that looks best.

Play around with the TVs own resolution settings also and you should be able to get them to sync right.
