There is this picture. IT is in black and white.

This dark hair, dark eyed woman either white or hispanic.

1 picture is her acting all cool with a pistol aiming at something

the second is her crying and waving her arms at someone.

It says something like "fight back or..."

    i cant remember exactly.

I want to find this picture.

I think that most people have something rattling around in their skulls and realize that buying a gun doesn't instantly change them and their life and his work serves more as a thought provoking piece like other art. Also remember that most of here us grew up in the cuddly US. We can talk about armed resistance, corrupt governments, etc but most of us have had a cushy life and haven't had any involvement with truly despicable government. Oleg grew up in the USSR and has had a more direct involvement with the evil things that people in power can do to others. No doubt this view may seem extreme to some but is it really right for anyone to expect someone who lived under an oppressive government to not be outspoken about being able to resist such a government just because they've never lived that themselves?

I think you're giving people too little credit, people and women aren't feeble minded morons who are going to see a poster like these and run out and drop $600 on a gun. It might cause them to think or to see things from another side. I debate anti's all the time and use an absolute ton of facts and statistics but there is nothing wrong with adding a little emotional charge to the situation. I can talk all day about how permit holders are safe etc but some people can't appreciate the situation without a little emotional involvement. Do I become a bad supporter for asking someone how they would want their girlfriend/wife/daughter/sister to fight off a 250 pound rapist? That isn't going to make them rush out and buy a gun but it might make them think a little more.

I also call shenanigans on your story. There are details missing (that you well may not have), the police don't shoot people they can't see just because they have a permit. That isn't a justified shooting.

Americans have forgotten the spirit of the 2nd amendment. Tyrranical government seems impossible to them, they've never experienced it and the world seems warm and fuzzy. If they see a guy who is trying to remind them that government can turn bad and you might need to fight back one day seems nuts, its society that needs to change, not the man.

My issue isn't who chooses to carry or not, or own or not. I don't care if you don't want to own one.

What upsets me is all the people that care that *I* *DO* want to own/carry. That's my right, so leave me alone with it. I don't bitch at people that wear womens underwear, or have homosexual relationships, or like tofu... I don't like any of those things, but I'm not gonna shit on your right to like em.

It's just frustrating that I respect their rights and they won't respect mine.

The Government is tyrranical by proxy. The inaction on illegal immigration results in rape and murder of americans.

What do you want to own guns for.

I thought canada would have outlawed self defence so is your token answer sports target shooting?

Probably because guns are the only things in those pictures that are specifically designed for killing things. People didn't invent guns so they could blast skeet and soda cans. It's the primary intended use that people get worried about.

That said, yes, it's the motive of the user that makes all the difference.

Anyway, in regards to the first pic, those women must be getting attacked by some remarkably stupid muggers if they had time to whip out their piece and get in the proper stance before they got jumped.

What happens if a suspicious man jumped their locked gates, got past their dogs and kicked in the doors.

Maybe that is why they were ready.

But matches were invented to specifically light shit on fire. And knives were invented specifically to cut stuff up. (butchering animals with those caveman knives)

I thought it was a handful of universities, including the University of Texas IIRC. I knew one of the former professors involved in its infancy.:dunno:

The ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) developed by DARPA of the United States Department of Defense, was the world's first operational packet switching network, and the predecessor of the global Internet.
