Sherk my destruction. I'm willing to be his wrestling and take town dfence are more than a little rusty. Plus, I don't think he'd handle being stuffed in a cage too well.

    that's pretty cool

I think Sherk takes it for sure..but 25 knockouts in 27 fights..plus he was apparently a very good wrestler in high school considering that OSU is a really good college for wrestling

    should be interesting

if he wins, people will say he used mma and not boxing.

on paper he standsa much better chance than mayweather. mayweather's biggest problems were lack of KO power (at least in his boxer's strategy), and lack of a take down defense.

this guy has KO power using boxing gloves, and a wrestler's sprawl. he could potentially be a welterweight chuck lidell.

I think it would awesome if he came over to the UFC, but I really hope they don't give him the Sherk fight as his first fight.

The way I see it, if he wants to fight the champion, he has to work his way up and prove that he's better qualified than the rest of the lightweight division.

Cintron trying to scrap huh, seems like a good match up. The Kid is a huge welterweight and probably should be fighting at middleweight.

Cant wait to see this go down, i will be rooting for Kermit.

Think he can make 155 then? I also agree with the earleir poster that said he needs to work his way through the division before he fights the champ. IF he can make it through some other guys, then he can fight sherk.

the guy doesn't wanna fight mma and hold the title (as far as i could tell from the article), he just wants to take up the challenge that dana white presented to floyd mayweather, which WAS fighting sherk.

155  , he fights at welterweight. thats 147 lbs in boxing. He can definitley make the weight.

So Mayweather got a straight shot at the champ but now Cintron has to work his way up? :hsugh: Thats bullshit.

Seems like some mma fans might be spooked that this kid can take on your champ.

Well we did happen to be talking about MMA and well welterweight and middleweight in mma is quite a bit more than 155. But like others have said, Mayweather is a KNOWN name and HE talked trash about MMA and then took back what he said. This guys is trying to ride the coat tails of someone elses challenge.

If any boxer has a chance its him, but I don't see it happening.

No, Cintron has the BALLS to step up to the almighty mma fighter.

Last time I heard Cintron walks around at 180 and cuts to 147.

So now anybody can challenge the champ and get a fight? Lets just ignore the fact that there is an entire division of eager fighters working their balls off to get that title.

I don't care if he beats Sherk; I don't hold Sherk on a pedestal.

Shit, if he does fight Sherk, it'll be using boxing and wrestling, the definition of MMA.

He aint fighting for a shitty UFC belt, he's fighting just to challenge an mma fighter and for pride.

He many be using boxing and wrestling but he still is a boxer by profession.

If they were going to do something like that then it obviously wouldn't be for the title. It'd just be some kind of boxing vs MMA bullshit.

I just think it would be very interesting to see. It shouldnt even be for a UFC belt they should just fight because most people would love to see this shit.

I never said Cintron would dominate, but he sure as hell would make it more interesting than Mayweather. The kid has some serious Knockout power and I would love to see what he could do with some 4 oz gloves on.

Hopefully this never happens. Just cuz you're a pro you get to fight a champion in another sport? Fuck that, plus it gives undue attention to a withering sport and a nobody fighter. Plenty of LW's in the UFC stable I'd rather watch get a shot.

If he's fighting the UFC champion in the UFC, he's fighting for the belt. Sorry, that's just the way it is.

Who cares if he's a boxer by profession? He was a college wrester before that, and that's impressive as hell. If he fights in an MMA setting, and uses multiple fighting disciplines, he's just another MMA fighter challenging the champ.

There isn't anything new here; pretty much every MMA fighter competes in other fighting venues, whether it is kickboxing, submission grappling, boxing, judo, etc. This guy is no different.

 I like how all of a sudden Cintron is an MMA fighter fighting another. Bullfucking shit. This man is a boxer who happened to wrestle. You're just trying to cover your ass if Cintron beats him.
"But hes a mma fighter, he knows wrestling." Give me a fucking break.

And he aint fighting for a fucking UFC belt. He's trying to prove that a boxer can hold his own in the cage.

Get outta here with your floppy cock.
