When should I have PRK done? Before I start talking to an officer recruiter or while in the process of sending my packet?

I talked to a recruiter yesterday and told me an officer recruiter would contact me within 2 days. Still haven't heard from them yet so I guess I'll call back if I don't hear from them by tomorrow.

Trying to get into BDCP, only 2 semesters away from a BS in Accounting 2.9 GPA.
If I get rejected do I just wait until I actually have my degree and try applying for OCS (SWO/NFO/Supply)?

Why do it beforehand when the military will pay to have it done?

If you don't want to be a pilot I'd say get it before. Too much bullshit to deal with trying to get it while your in.

Nobody I knows has either, but even if I did, isn't the surgery like $5000. I mean that's gotta be a ton of bullshit to be willing to drop money like that.

It usually depends on your eyes as to how much they will charge.

The more complicated your eye geography is, the more expensive your surgery will be. My Army son had his eyes done, and it cost more than $5k. They planned on doing a series of 3 surgeries on each eye to get him completely done. But he also went with a doctor that agreed to treat his eyes for life for no extra charge, which I'm sure was was factored in to the cost. There were cheaper places, but they only quoted a price for the first surgery - even though we knew from second and third opinions we had received that he would need multiple surgeries before he was completely done.

cliffs: you get what you pay for.

Regardless if it costs $1500 or $5000

    free < not free

Paying for it before you go in seems idiotic to me.

you are both right. He was saying that free would cost less than not free. You are saying that free is better than not free.

How sure a thing is it that the military will approve you for eye surgery?

Also, there are some that will not be able to join unless they get their eyes fixed first. That was the case with my son.
