If it was just a publicity stunt he wouldn't be deploying to Iraq.
I would venture to say that some people would still believe it to be a publicity stunt if he were killed in action.
What British soldier out there is not a terrorist target, and once he is out there in uniform with his unit its going to be hard to tell him from any other squaddie.
I very much doubt its publicity either, Harry seems pretty strong willed, and its not as if there has not been royals in war zones before, last time being 25 years ago.
