Do you guys just order it online? The hazard fees and shipping for seperated powder and primers are $30 each, you guys just ordering a shit load so the fees aren't as bad? an economies of scale deal?

I honestly buy them locally as I need them. If I were you I'd look at the prices online compared to the prices locally and see how much you would have to buy to make the fees worth it. One thing to consider is how often the local place has them in stock, sometimes it is worth the connivence.

Buy somewhere other than midway that will put both in the same box for 1 hazmat fee. Check natchez.

We get like 4 or 5 guys in and place a big order and split the shipping and haz. each guy buys at least 16 lbs of powder and 4 sleeves of primers (5000 primers per sleeve.)

there is a base of like 400+ competition shooters in my area so there is always a deal going down.

"Where can I get in on some powder yo"
"Oh them korean fools was talking about a buy"
"Cool who's got the hook up's on the bullets"
"I heard nobody's got deals on bullets, but Taran is holding a bunch of slugs"
"Man I could use a few cases of slugs"

Either go in with friends, find a shop that carries it, or wait for a gunshow in town.

    For comparison's sake:

    Local shop
1# bullseye - $20.69 (I expected to find gold in the bottom of this can of bullseye)
    1# varget - $21.69
    1# blue dot - $17.99
    --------------------
    $60.37

    natchez
    1# bullseye - $13.99
    1# varget - $18.99
    1# blue dot - $14.49
    --------------------
    $47.47

So with my last small pickup at the local shop, and not even counting primers, I was $13 into the $20 hazmat charge at natchez. Even without a bunch of friends going in it probably will save you money.

    It's readily available here locally.

    I pay about:

$55 for a 4lb jug of Silouhette, Clays and Titegroup

and about $80 a sleeve of SPP and SRP

    $23 for a 1000 LPP

I do the local group buys every once in a while, but I can get it equally as cheap when I buy my own bulk orders because I've got my own connections and don't have to worry about gathering money, slackers and having to pick up the orders for everyone else. I'm impatient.
