I am setting up an external hard drive and i am at the step where i need to set up either a primary partition, extended partition, or logical drive. I am not sure which one or combination of partitions i should use.

I plan on using this drive for music/movies/tv shows. What is the correct way to go about this?

Windows can let you compress files and folders on a drive but you have to enable it on a drive by drive basis.
