Local gun shop wants $500 for a used P226 9mm with manual, case, and a high capacity mag. He said, "It looks new, even has the new tag still on it." I think it might be refurbished since it has a tag on it.
I have not seen it, but I wanted to be prepared so far as price goes. I am new to gun ownership.
    Is this a fair price?

If its in a blue box then it's a CPO and yes that is a good deal. I'd buy it if it was in fact a cpo

I thought red boxes were CPOs?

I didn't pick up the Sig because it was very used and was not certified. They wanted over $800 for their Sigs. I didn't want to spend that much so I forked over half that for a Taurus PT111 Pro 9mm.

I had the opportunity to fire a 226 X-Five last week, and it had the nicest trigger I've ever used on a handgun in my life.

This Taurus has one of the longest pulls; it isn't a heavy pull, but it sure is long!

I'm not sure yet, when I held it in the store, it fit fine, but when I shoot it I tend to bump the mag release. I will need to put more rounds through it, only 30 so far, to get used to it.
