    for the price, this isn't a bad idea. the lenses aren't that great, but you can use them to get used to the camera. then ditch them for something better!

    plus, if at anytime you don't care for it, just return it!

    I'd pass on the kit lenses. They are crap.

    I'd just get the D50 body for $500 or so and put the extra $300 you would have spent on this kit towards a decent lens.
