    So I get this e-mail:

"how would you like to pose as a professional photographer and take some pictures of a hot girl who wants to be in calendar..it's for XXXXXX and I...we won't need the pics just want her to think I was serious about using her"

I am just wondering what I would need to rent to make this look legit. I have a D70 and a few decent lenses. I don't think I could scramble gear together for a studio. So will my D70 + a rented SB600 = good enough to make a model think I am a professional?

I know there are clearly some moral issues with this but are there any legal issues?

Yeah it is...I will need to get the details before I decide to do it or not. If they are playing her hard then I don't really want to be a part of that.

Some girls think people with a $100 EVF camera are pros. Why bother renting shit.

I'm sure there is some type of lawsuit that could apply here for pain and suffering.

I've seen guys pretend to be pro's with less... :hs:

I have a few years and about $6,000 invested and I wouldn't consider calling myself a pro by a long shot!!

So, how about you play professional photographer, take it seriously, take the photos, (remember to get a model release signed in there somewhere... you know, to maintain the "act" of being professional ;) ), then sell them on your own and make some real money with it? Sounds win-win.

Sounds like your friend just got the hard part done and got the contact information you need for a model shoot.

I have an ethical issue with pretending to be a pro photographer just to lead someone on.

Wouldn't do it, but that's just me.

Just get a flash bracket and put a flash on it. Now you look like a pro.
