On my leg days should the range of motion on leg presses be the same range as my squats? Also what weight should i be using for presses in relation to my squats?

Press weight should be significantly more.. but I don't have any backup on that.

leg presses are usually a lot higher weight just because it's on a sled rather than being on a bar which you have to stabilize... plus the guide for the sled absorbs some of the weight since gravity pulls down, not at diagonals.

Even i can leg press 300 pounds for 12 reps. Leg press's arn't very difficult at all.

the sled at my gym doesnt give you the full range, my knees never touch my chest when doing them.

I leg press with a larger range of motion. Knees to chest.

I have weak legs, 380x10 on the leg press. Actually, I have weak everything, and I think my legs are the strongest part of my body.

You guys think it is good to ever work in some leg presses? I never do them and just do squats or some other ME leg exercise. I don't think I have done them in like 6 years.

on my old full body routine, I liked to sub them in once and a while. On Pur's routine, they are a weekly staple.

I read once, somewhere on the internet (so take it for what it's worth), but the range of motion on the hack press or other press machines should be less than your squat range. The reasoning was that it's an unnatural motion, so coming down to full squat position actually loads too much weight on your lower back in a bad way. I usually bring the hack press down until my butt starts to lift off the seat, and then back up. Keeps me from curling by lower spine, which I think would be a bad thing with that amount of weight loaded on the thing.

I think leg presses are awesome. LOVED those in high school. No sled at my home gym.

I squat wide so I use leg presses to hit my quads.

I don't have the same range of motion because my fat gut gets in the way on leg presses.
