Anything alse I should be considering? (must have AWD).

    I was looking at the A4 or a little older S4, C-class MB, 3-series...

    I'm talking around 35k CDN.

Everything I read says the G35x is the best bang for the buck.

Why Passat? If I was looking at VW shouldn't I stick with Audi? I love the way they look (Audi) but I've read about their not so stellar reliability.

Also, 2007 Infiniti G35 ranked #1 by Consumer Reports for that year...

At the same cost, if they were equally reliable, I'd pick an Audi...

how long you plan to keep the car? Either way the audi will cost more. Depreciation and maintenance (after warranty is up) will be more on the Audi. Although, quite frankly, if you aren't a gearhead and want a used audi that's more reliable, I would *assume* the V6 would be more reliable than the turbo 4 (certainly if it's the 1.8T).

I'd look at the Subaru Legacy GT if i were you. Unless you absolutely must have the luxury car aura, then it prob won't satisfy you. But it's equally fun to drive and is more reliable than audi and cheaper than everything else (although it shows, i guess...).

I guess you could look at IS250 AWD, but it's slow as fuck

well, the gf is paying 50%. so the plan was a "luxury" sedan with some power. Right now we have a Pontiac Vibe :wtc: so power is a relative term. The G35x seems to satisfy all our requirements. The lexus may as well, even though you say it is slow, but isn't it more than the g35x?

so the Passat 3.6 4mo is quicker than a 3.2Q A4 and bigger

more what? expensive? or powerful.? The IS350 is pricier and slightly quicker I believe. The IS250 can be had for like 32k and only has around 200hp

with AWD and some options, i think 32 is close. I'm not talkin about after dealer discounts and such, as I was offered a loaded one with the "aero-x" or some shit (sport package) for 31k a year ago. Regardless, the 250 is pretty weak sauce either way bro ma

I drove a 6-speed TL and thought it was surprisingly enjoyable. Shifter was miles above the competition, as honda gearboxes tend to be. I doubt i'd buy an automatic one though. If you don't care to have RWD or AWD, I'd look at one...the newer Type S is good if want something a bit more sporty , with some obnoxious quad exhaust pipes to boot
