Is it better to do the whole eat couple hours before working out?

what type of snack are you allowed before going wild on the cardio machines so you don't get those stomach cramps that give you the barfing feeling. :hsd:

what is a descent energy drink to have so you can have a good work out if it were a cardio day?

Carbs and protein, no sugar. I usually eat a burger or chicken and some type of wheat bread about 30min to an hour prior to working out.

I eat nothing. I train at 5:00AM so I don't like like to get up earlier than I have to. I have a protein shake afterwards.

Complex carbohydrates like brown rice, oatmeal, etc. and lean protein like chicken breast or canned tuna. Drink water. Give yourself 1 to 1.5 hours to digest.

if i forget my water bottle i just hit the fountains a few times during training... if i got my bottle on me i probably drink 1-2 liters per workout depending on which lifts i'm doing. squats or deads = shitload of water afterwards and some before.

Yeah, I hit the fountains after every lift. I usually take awhile between sets, so it gives me something to do

Personally I cannot eat even close to when I go. Makes me feel sick. 1-2 hours before sounds like a good idea imo.

I start training at 6am. I wake up an hour early and eat some oats mixed with whey. If I wake up any later then that, I just have a protein shake.

Usually I eat two hours before, mainly complex carbs and lots of protein, and cup of coffee before workout.

    If my workout is mid-afternoon:

Preworkout = scrambled eggs (mostly egg whites), low-fat cheese, peanut butter, and protein shake.

If my workout is later at night:

Whatever I have for dinner.... Usually some chicken dish + protein shake.

Preworkout supplementation is overrated IMO. Get in a good meal and if need be (due to a long day) get some coffee an hour prior and get your ass in the gym.
The intensity of your workout is typically determined by your attitude. If I am not feelin' it that day I will get some coffee and run a little to get my blood pumping.
