What do you guys usually take for your pre and post workout meals?
carb up right before (2 slices whole wheat bread+ banana or apple), gatorade+ creatine during, protein / homemade weight gainer shake after
i eat a meal before and i eat a meal after.
Do you usually eat like an hr or 2 before the gym? I usually would eat rice with meat or a protein shake.
i usually eat lunch an hour or so before i go to the gym, 50/400 ec 25 minutes before leaving, a shit ton of water during, post workout - 2 scoops whey in milk + powerade after i down the shake
Sounds good but why a Powerade and not water or something else?
easy source of maltodextrin and carbs
pre: banana + protein shake with 3/4 scoop of carbo gain (malto) and teaspoon of dextrose
post: protein shake with full scoop of carbo gain, teaspoon dextrose, 1tbsp peanutbutter and usually a meal ~20 minutes afterwards.
dinner an hour before workout = (lean meat, a veggie and some complex carbs)
Protein shake within an hour after my 7-8pm workout
pre is usually fat+protein
post is high GI carbs/protein
I have a post shake right after my workout, then followed by a meal of meat/carbs/veggies about 30 minutes after.
pre i eat 4 reduced fat triscuits and a shake. post is dinner.
Same here for the most part.
