Pre and post workout nutrition

    what do you guys do? i never have anything beforehand because i'm an idiot. however, afterward i have some chicken and a protein shake. what should i be having pre workout?

    I usually have a shake and a pb sammich prior to a workout.

    PRE: Whey, BCAA's, Creatine, Carbs.....

    DURING: Creatine, Carbs, BCAA's, Water/Milk....

    POST: Whey, Creatine, Carbs.....

    can you give an example of what you take in for carbs? also, do you do it immediately pre and immediately post workout? or is there a certain amount of time you give as a buffer?

    last night it was the chicken tender crisp from bk :noes: But when im not a fat lazy loser I have a whey shake and some bcaa before and then the same after but with gatorade or something

    I prefer carbs from low gi, healthy, calorie dense, solid food sources, such as oats. There is at LEAST a 30 minute buffer in between the PRE and the workout.

    sometimes i use an oatmeal like raisins an spice, a mix of low and high gi carbs, also raisens an spice taste so damn good

    Do you ever experiment with any during-workout nutrition ? A while back I started (occasionally) bringing a gallon of milk with me during the workout. I was surprised when recovery improved pretty dramatically (but I'm still not sure it's optimal).

    Edit: So instead of gaining 5-7lbs waterweight, I'm gaining 5-7 lbs of milkweight :mamoru:

    :barf: i can't drink milk before working out because i'll feel sick. i can't imagine drinking that shit IN BETWEEN sets. :eek3:

    what's bcaa?

    i'll add a shake pre workout and some oats as well. what other kinds of foods would be good carb wise in addition to oats?

    also, do you recommend gatorade for the electrolytes?

    well whole milk is sugary so i can see it helping but how the hell do you drink milk an train. I would puke all over myself :rofl: Thats some hardcore shit right there

    oatmeal or pb sandwich with a banana or apple ~1 hour before working out....post usually creatine in a whey shake.

    i like gatorade for that and its not loaded with sugar, its only 35 or so per bottle.

    Branched chain amino acids are bcaa. I use animal nitro...cause im animal

    i think he meant bcaa, nitros is expensive as you know, whats a good cheap one. I figure if anyone knows your gonna.
