They look kinda cool if you've got the money. What does your friend like best about them?

I compete in USAPL/IPF. I like the bar relatively high. As for my stance its a little wider than shoulder stance. I am debating between these and safes.. the people I've talked to aren't huge fans of them though.

I don't know how well they would work for PL (as chris points out they are weightlifting shoes, and not intended for wide stance PL squats).

That said, if you decide to get a pair, I don't think it's worth spending that much on your first pair of shoes. Something like these are more than enough:

pft chucks, they're only practical for ultra wide squats, and honestly, depth really isn't a problem in those feds.

if you do get them, you need to get the front raised a little as the heal is designed for olympic lifting. I know this because 3 guys I train with own them and one guy sells them. I am also in an IPF sanctioned fed. A lot of the guys use weightlifting shoes with the front raised slightly.

personally, I think there are much cheaper weightlifting shoes, whilst not looking quit as cool, will definitely function the same.
