Got a question for you guys. I am currently registered for the 220lb class. I wake up and piss and get on my Tanita digital scale and for the last week I've been 219.X or 220.X. I am pretty close so I'm not all that concerned but I was just curious how accurate these digital scales are? I plan on going to the first day of the meet and brignign my scale and setting it next to the scale they have at the meet and compare weights. Do you guys have any tips for dropping some water weight without sacrificing strength? Also what do you guys eat the day of the meet? Any other tips? Its my first meet and I'm pumped!

well... this could help, but you are gonna have to be stuffing down slim jims and chugging gatorade before the meet

    this is from Julia...

make sure you eat clean that week. You may need to cuz a few carbs out, but I think you can lose the weight without doing that. On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday drink 2 gallons of water. Thursday, cut it back to about 1/2 gallon. Friday, almost no water (depending on where your weight is by then... if you're already at 242, you could probably drink some water.) Then weigh in on Saturday. (if you weigh-in on Friday, just push everything back a day.) The key is to drop water weight, nothing else.

Hope that helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I am about to head to the gym for my last real bench workout then heading to NY for the weekend. I'll post a bunch of questions I have when I get a chance.

hes got a 2 hour weight in and he's pretty damn close to the right weight.

Try and contact the meet organisers and weigh yourself on THEIR scales just to make sure. If you come in a little heavy don't eat much the night before. Otherwise, a simple not drinking any water the night before and no breakfast should easily be sufficient.

I'm going in on the first day of the meet with my scale and I'm just gonna hop on the meet scale then mine to find the weight difference.
