Uhhh just wondering because of the rumors, will the new upgraded powerbooks only have a a slight speed increase and more standard features and a little price drop? if so I would really like to buy a powerbook earlier cause i have a trip to las vegas over the break.

    thanks for the inputs!

no one can tell you for sure :(

An apple rep told me that it was going to be a slight speed bump (1.5GHz for the 12" PB) but he couldn't say for sure -- and he prolly doesn't know.

I'm in the same situation. I technically need a new notebook before Jan 3rd, but I'm killing myself because that's a big loss if Apple announces something dramatic at their convention... I may just tough it out for a few weeks to see what they have to say.

On the other side, I've heard rumors of more drastic changes, like a possible G5 (although not probable) or the more-probable introduction of a dual-core G4.

A dual-core chip with a back-illuminated keyboard on the 12" PB would suite me nicely :naughty:

Like jollyogre said; no one can tell for sure.

Usually it's a price increase. Didn't know there was going to be a drop at all.

aye. The mac rep topld me that prices would either stay the same, or rise to compensate for the new chip speed.
