I also watched it. It was funny watching the bug.

but I do really hate the bug, so I wouldn't want to drive it, either.

Heh. I used to want a Lamborghini.

As I got older, though, I decided I didn't really want a car with capabilities so far beyond my own that I could never enjoy taking it to the limit, nor a car so expensive and rare that I'd be terrified to even try to push the boundaries of what I can handle as a driver.

Translation: he realized he will never make enough money in his lifetime to purchase a Lamborghini.

Basically. And even if I do, the risk of financial ruin if anything happened to it is just too much to handle.

perhaps not, but secretly you have thought all of those things. That's the thing in such a brilliant post, actually, it encapsulates exactly how much of a stupid prick you are -- and how much you claim to know, but really don't know shit. And the more you explain, the more apparant your lack of knowledge is.

Not only is that post libelous, it doesn't even have anything to do with the thread. You threw that shit in there for no reason other than to cause trouble.

Yes, I figured that out. I chose the Passat because it was better than the Taurus SHO that was my other option at the time. Even if there had been some fool selling a Diablo for $8500, I still would have chosen the Passat because it's a car I know how to drive and can afford to either fix or dispose of. If nothing else, the idea of getting pulled over and hassled by cops every ten feet isn't my idea of fun.

As for the bit about VW being the pinnacle of excellence...it IS a well-built car overall, and I appreciate its amenities, but don't think I've managed to pay out the ass to get it fixed without somehow being made aware of its flaws as well.

I rank them much lower than any of the domestics, honestly. I knew a guy that had a passat and it was comfortable, but it's not a car to own. I like rolling the power windows down knowing that they'll come back up when I need em to.

You know, there's actually a fix for the window regulators that involves replacing a plastic slider with a ceramic cabinet knob. Funniest shit ever, IMO.

But yeah, 90% of the people on PassatWorld will say "no" any time someone asks if they should buy one. It's more like "oh look, I have a Passat now, how can I make the most of it?"
