Alright, is there anywhere I can check what watts my power supply is running without pulling the computer out and looking on the back?

I see all the new video cards need at least 300 watt supply, no point in getting a new video card and not having a good enough power supply :big grin:

pull the side panel off your pc, there should be a sticker on the psu itself

good bet- if you don't already know what you have, get a new one ~400w or more

do not just get a "400W" power supply. Because a 300W Sparkle PSU is better than a 450W "generic" psu.

i can vouch for that. generic power supplies are to be avoided like the plague. i had a 450 watt 'powmax' that was always giving me trouble. switched to a 300w antec and haven't had a problem since. whatever you do, go quality.

btw, i should mention that if anyone thinks to get a generic psu, they deserve to have their pc blow up

    p&c? You must mean pcp&c.

they're overpriced, imo. You can get a sparkle or enermax for less, and they're the same quality, with more features.
