I'm leaving for europe in two weeks. I'll be there about 3 weeks and I'll be taking along my d50 and a point and shoot. Both have rechargeable batteries. What is the best option for keeping the cameras working?

    extra batteries
    some type of converter
    euro charger
    other?

This is my first trip to europe and I'll be backpacking and I dont want to miss any shots because I dont have any power. Any recommendations for what items to get or where to buy would be helpful.

look at your charger and see if it's dual voltage, I would be willing to bet it is, my canon one is

then all you'll need is an adapter so you can plug it into the funky looking euro plugs

100% your camera is dual voltage

my suggestion is bring an american powerbar, and one or two plug converters, as many hotel rooms have very little in the way of outlets

D50 charger is dual voltage, you just need adapters.

    Edit: bleh I'm late.

BTW are you staying in hostels? Dorm or private? I can't imagine leaving my dSLR in a dorm room for shower or dinner while other people are going in and out of it. :noes:

Also all but one night I will be sharing 4 person rooms with my good friends in the group so we should be fine.
