So I've installed a new HU. System volume can be turned up to 25 without Bass before it gets fuzzy and the HU turns on then off. With Bass on its highest level, the speakers sound fuzzy at all volumes and the max volume can only be 18 before the HU turns off then on. It also happened with the old HU

Is this a power issue? Is there any way to fix this or tell if my alternator needs replaced? With the Bass issue, the speakers are stock so I assume that's the other issue.

I'm guessing you have a higher powered deck, or you are overdriving the HU amp. Some Alpine models needed to have the power wire hooked to the ignition harness. This could be your issue. Or you could be overheating the HU and it is shutting off as a protection. If you want more bass, add a sub.

A speaker could be grounding out on max excursion as well.
