I need a good recommendation for a post workout protein, food based to give roughly 50-60 grams of protein....

The catch is I have yoga 30 minutes after I get done with lifting....

Is it better to just pound a shake and try for a meal afterwards, although my meal would be at 8:30pm....

Going to yoga on a full stomach is painful....

Normally I have been having 3 buffalao meatballs....

    Any ideas would help, thanks.....

at the end of the day it shouldn't make a HUGE difference unless you are competing or something - lots of people do cardio after lifting.

if you have a full 30 minutes in between your workout and yoga i would just pound a shake immediately after your workout then eat after yoga.

Just have 25g of oats and 2 scoops of whey protein. It won't sit too heavy on you, and will give you all the nutrients you need at that time.

Why would I want a carb source if I am looking to take in protein post workout, or do you mix the two together?

The oats and protein sound like a good alternative....

It's common to take carbs and protein after getting swole. I like to mix gatorade powder with my whey and drink it.

Ok....that makes sense....The Waxy Maize just scared me, from the talk of bypassing the stomach and going into the intestine for absorbtion...I am not looking for something that will make my body need to take a dump, especially in Yoga....

Waxy maize is a waste unless you are trying to consume like 150g+ in a single sitting. All the gastric clearing fast absorption blah blah nonsense doesnt matter if you are only having like 30g of carbs. If you wanted fast carbs I'd say just use dextrose until you start approaching the 100g mark. And since nobody here is a 300lb IFBB pro, I don't think there is any point in consuming that much carbohydrate immediately post workout.

But I think oats are an ideal choice because they will stay in the system a little longer than dextrose would to help you get through your next workout.

Are all protein drinks just a matter of personal preference?
It is hard to find unbiased information on the net about good shakes....

The chances are that you are not going to see a huge difference if you man the fuck up and not eat before yoga.

It is pretty much all bullshit marketing hype. The differences are macro composition and taste.
