When my Tax return check comes in, its leather jacket time...or jacket in general... i really would like to get leather...

The front runner right now is Teknic either Violator or the Chicane, the Motorhead from Icon also is in the running...it has plenty of vents, but teh teknic jackets are fully perferated.

Post up your gear and tell me what you like about it. I'm doing my best to get a "year round" jacket.

HJC CL-SP Raven helmet. I got lucky since there arent many dealers near me to try on helmets. This one was a perfect fit

Teknic Violator Gloves. The thumb is a little big for me, but the rest of the fingers are perfect. I like all the extra padding around the wrist. These seems to do a good job if I wreck

I will get Sidi Vertigo Corsa boots. These are suppose near the top of the line and looks to do a good job of protecting your feet. I dont know about you but my health doesnt have a price tag on that.

I am thinking about getting Joe Rocket Speedmaster jacket or Teknic Violator Jacket.

    - Shoei X11 Yamaha edition --- too big to be comfortable ....so beautiful balanced.....if only i had the right size
    - HJC CL12 (or something)...use it for autocrossing/dragracing......hurts my head after 5 minutes of go-karting

    Gloves
    - Alpinestars GP Plus ...so comfy
    - Alpinestars SP1 (2004 model) -- too small for me.....great glove....but fingers are too short for me

    Boots
    - Oakley combat boots......can brag I spent a ton of money on boots....they're comfy but stink
    - Alpinestars SMX.....some of the better boots out there...got them for almost nothing...can't complain

Hopefully I'll have an Alpinestars SX-1 suit soon :run:

SpeedRagz Stunta short leather gloves (warm weather)

I know boots would be better, but I don't want to lug shoes around with me when I go to work. And, yes, this is for riding on my scooter. 85 mph is 85 mph, doesn't matter if it's a Harley or a Vespa, I want to be protected if a car doesn't see me. Plus, with all my gear being red/black, like my scooter, I look like the Red Power Ranger:coolugh:

    I know. IBisnapmyfootoff :noes:

They lace up high and give really good ankle support, and are full leather, none of that mesh crap, I hope they'll be good enough. Actually, I hope I never have to find out if they're good enough!

Check out the alpinestars stunt shoe. I use it when im just cruising to the mall. It'll be a lot better then the sneakers you use.

I'm looking at them, but I'm not sure how they're better. The Reeboks I use actually look like they go higher up the ankle than that, offering more support. I don't have the little velco thing that keeps the laces tied, but I also don't have a chain for a loose lace to get caught in, either. My scooter drive system is completely enclosed. Here's a pic of one of the shoes I use next to my helmet, so you can see how high they go:

Best part is I don't have to take them off when I get to work, since I work at an Intel fab, and spend most of my day walking on hard floors. Can't do that wearing boots, and I didn't want to be lugging shoes around back and forth to work.

Alpinestars GP pro or plus Gloves
    Alpinestars smx+ Boots
    Alpinestars Tech Back Protector
    Shoei X-11 helmet

The two articles I would mostly recommend are the S-MX jacket ($$$ though) and the Shoei helmet, I totlaly love both

p.s. wear a back protector, it's very good proteciton

My jacket (Joe Rocket Ballistic) has back protection along the spine, is that what you're talking about? Sounds like you have a seperate one. Does your jacket not have back protection, or do you have two forms of it?
