This is actually a pretty good thread to start and maintain. Unfortunately I live in North Dakota and this state don't have any Trader Joes, BJs, Sams, Costco, or anything for that matter

Yeah, we do have a walmart lol. Walmart will always manage to find its way into the smallest most uninhabited locations and destroy all the mom and pop stores.

    This is simple

    Ground Beef
    - Trader Joe's. They have organic, 100% grass fed 94% lean for less than $5 per pound.

    Chicken
    - Costco. You get a 10 lb bag of frozen chicken for $20

    Fish
    - Trader Joe's. They sell ahi and yellow fin tuna steak; 2 fillets for $4 usually.
    - If you want large quantities of salmon or talapia = Costco

Once in a while I'll catch a great sale on steak at Jewel-Albertsons or Target... but I'm trying to stay on grass fed beef only now so TJ's is my homie these days.

I might have to break my grass fed rules when Jewel starts having their summer grilling sales and pushes $4 fillet Mignons

Everyone tells me they think that TJ's is overpriced.

Then I ask them how many times they've been there. Most say never, and some say once... 3 years ago, lol. People tend to think they know, and automatically assume that healthy and organic = expensive. That is the case at whole foods, but not so much TJ's.

Their prices have come down a lot.

I find just as cheap and in most cases cheaper than your average grocery store.

I don't mind a good sale on chicken or beef, but I'm always weary of fish on sale.

Gotta keep in mind why easily perishable items go on sale.

Usually I go to the same 2 places every time for everything and just accept the fact that I might pay more than another place occasionally. I'm more a fan of controlling the quality that I get than getting the best price.
