    I used Microsoft Visio Pro, it came with my Office distro.

    and yes, I need those switches... both for lan parties and the fact that they're managed and I simulate various network topologies for work-purposes.

    The rack in the basement before I got the patch panel in place. Note the AT switch that is too deep for the rack. :o

    Here is the wiring that I did in the house. One run of cat5 for voice and data.

    Here is what the setup looks like now. The 24port AT swtich got replaced by a WRTG54G. And there is now a massive DEC Alpha infront of it. :o

    I count only two in the above pic. The "third" looks (says, rather) that it's a hub.

    that way we all can 'truly understand' your network.
