Multiple times out of speeding tickets, and one time dude had to give me a ticket but dropped the speed.

Don't even have to show ID, they know immediately, and usually ask.
Or they will ask what i am doing, and usually it involves me either coming or going to work, and or being on leave.
Plus in a lot of states, a lot of police officers are in the national guard for extra income.

BTW: There is a law in the PA legal system, that allows PA NG soldiers enroute to drill a "get outta free card". I think a few other states have similar provisions. I saw it in the annual "National Guard Benefit Guide" lol

Funny 'cause one of the guys I work with said the same thing. He's in jail this week with DUI #2, less than a month apart. Hello discharge papers.

I've only ever gotten speed reduced. Other than that, I still don't like cops.

I've actually had a police officer toss my ID card back through the window at me.... Said he didn't need that. I was in uniform, doing 14 over, travelling between bases (Gunter Annex going to Maxwell).

Now, I did get out of a ticket before I joined because my dad was in. Back then, I kept my DD Form 2 in front of my Driver's License. He saw it, and was all like, "Well, I know your family is going through crap right now, so I'm going to just let you go. Slow down next time." Only time I needed it.

Dad's a customs agent. Pulled over for speeding enroute to Pendleton. Badge and an suv full of Marines was all the cop needed to see to let us go.

pretty much have to around any base. I know if police let military go in a place like jacksonville NC, they would never give any tickets. :mamoru:

Only place I've ever gotten out of tickets is at home far away from military bases.

last time was this summer in ga. doing 85 in a 70. i was in uniform. asked why i was speeding. i said to go see my wife. this was when the 3rd id was getting back from iraq at benning, and the cop apparently thought i was just getting back as he asked when the last time i saw my wife was, to which i replied "its been a while" which a while is very subjective.... and he said slow down and i was on my way. :)

    Oh Hiya!

I thought that from stereotypes too.

But I was on vacation this past summer, and CHP pulled me over for doing 25 over.

He saw my Army ID and said "Be careful, some won't be as nice as me." And gave me my DL back and left.
