By heavy I mean that their sound has a specifically hard edge or bite to it. I do not mean heavy as in deep/emotional. Here's my short list:

    Skinny Puppy
    Strapping Young Lad
    Pantera
    Neophyte
DJ Shredda/Ingo/George Centeno/Champion Burns (hard house stuff)
    Kittie
    Roach Coach
Usual Suspects/Underfire/TechItch/Bad Company/Dom/Roland/Optical (drum and bass)
    Old Metallica

    NO :fawk:

  9. Uh oh. Tough guy on the loose. Someone alert the media. Instead I'll just explain monosyllabically so you can understand me.

Tapping The Vein is a good band with a chick who sings. Not real hard metal, but still metal. Since you seem to be a big Nine Inch Nails fan, you also might like to know that the main songwriter was heavily influenced by Charlie Clouser (and his old band 9 Ways to Sunday), who is now in Nine Inch Nails.

Drain STH is another metal band but is made up of 4 "bitches", very very hot women at that. I don't think they are still together, but they were a great metal from Sweden.

PS: You should check these two bands out. It will change your feelings towards women in metal. Oh and sorry if I used a couple of two- and three-syllable words in there.

damn, for liking such shitty music you sure do think that you know what good metal is,right?

ever heard of a band called lacuna coil with a chick singer by the name of christina scabbia? yeah, they kick almost every band's ass that you listed.not to mention angela gossow of arch enemy. her vocals own almost every vocalist from any band that you named.

  13. Oh man, Lacuna Coil is awesome. And the fact that Christina is hot and Italian always helps.

i'm going to have to agree. angela gossow is this tiny little german woman (probably about 5' 3", as far as i could tell from where i was) who has this berserker of a voice.

    also on the list:

children of bodom, amon amarth, soilwork, dark tranquillity, cradle of filth, at the gates.

amon amarth is some good shit. makes me want to eat babies.

:werd: Ultra heavy+fast, and ultra good too!

Neither Arch enemy or Lacuna coil are "heavy", nor are they even close! And who mentioned Cradle of shite :nono:

I'll go for Cephalic carnage, DEP, The End, The Locust, Cyrptopsy, Neuraxis and Burnt by the sun for starters but there are far too many to list.
