i live off of micropayments
today, we're "creating beauty"
gore warning NWS NWS
looks like a fun job
i work in the i.t. dept of a small college. we don't really make anything.
We make money by selling shit?
We make patents? LOL. Want to see some designs from apple? I can has access. Im on the bottom of the work horse but its ok for now. When I do my work I never look at the patents trying or being issued.
wife sells HM shit:
We make the gauge clusters for CAT, Case, New Holland, AGCO, etc. We also make the tach/speedos for Harley Davidson.
being part of a small company, we look for furniture all the time. damn, if HM ain't some awesome looking stuff, but man! $$$$$!!
oh, and we don't 'make' anything, really. insurance brokers ... i guess we make people's lives easier
I was going to post a picture of drugs but we don't really 'make' the drugs.. Just dispense them
That's what we do.
can i place my order directly through you?
me too. I need some adderall. my doc wont give it to me
this is what we make...
i fucking hate the redesign of the paper...
I design novelty items & souvenirs for amusement parks all over the country. Some samples of mine I've recently done this season, some which were just approved so should be in parks by the Summer:
honestly, that's awesome. i wish my job had the feeling of being able to SEE someone else actually using the product i developed. that's got to be a nice feeling.
i'll let you know when i'm heading to a theme park so you can hook me up with some counterfeit passes.
The shit is scattered all over the place in areas I'll never see in my lifetime most likely. The only one I'd ever have a chance at seeing is the commemorative pin I made for Canobie Lake Park in New Hampshire. But I was given one of the production samples so I don't even have to go for that.
It's fun to do, but those are the fun ones. There are plenty of generic mugs & keychains with plain text amongst those as well.
yeah, but assuming you're not OLD, why not take a little vacation with the family/girlfriend/friends/yourself/whatever, and go SEE this stuff? You get a fun time out of the whole deal, plus you (and the people you bring with you) get a sort of a souvenir hunt .... i think it would be awesome to travel a ways to have some fun, and THEN see your shit all plastered up on a billboard somewhere. that's too cool.
I guess it's different when you look at it from the outside. I'm only 29 (going on 30 this May ) and when I start one of these jobs I read up on them @ their website, wikipedia, flickr or whatever so I can get a feel for the park or find a look I want to go with. Some of these places just look so sad...like, they're no where near your Six Flags or Univeral Studios (which are also a few of our clients). I think the designs are nice, they're good for a name-drop in my portfolio, but I don't think I'd ever take the opportunity to seek the items out. Only that 3d model waterpark bank I posted I suppose.
I really want to do animation again. It's what I went to college for. This is just a "hobby" until I get back into Maya.
you have a kick ass job. How do you like working from them?
<--has probably purchased a few items from you...I work at SeaWorld San Diego
We use these for class.
I sell these to Students (Apple Campus Rep):
I make this stuff for the IT department at school ($6/hour campus job ftl):
and I sell these to magazines and websites:
