Could we get an archived or stickied thread with step by step instructions on how to go about getting tax stamps for NFA items? A how to on living trusts etc.? It would answer lot of questions at once for me, and I'm sure a few others.

I think it's a great idea, but I can't help with the making of it. :hsd:

I know nothing about trusts, so I have no idea where to start. Like, if it needs to be set up differently to be used to get NFA items.

I'm in the process of creating a trust (I'm just too lazy to finish) so I can do a write up in the next few weeks hopefully. I know getting your CLEO sign off is easier if you're going to do one or two NFA items but I have a feeling I'll be catching the sickness so a trust would be easier for multiple NFA goodies. I'll try to keep my EDU a bit shorter, and to the point, than the following one.

For now, here's what I have been going off of:

That answered quite a few Q's I had, thanks.

How much should it cost if you were to get a lawyer to do it for you?

Not sure if this is 100% accurate (can someone who knows check please?) but this seems like a straight enough guide.

You're required to have the paperwork with the gun anyways. Show it to them and go shoot it:dunno:

That's kinda gay. Can you make copies of the original paperwork for this reason?

carry copies, have orriginal and stamp stored somewhere safe. Batfe doesn't reissue stamps.

If you are doing a trust, use a lawyer, not willmaker. Is a few hundred dollars worth not going to federal prison? We all know how the BATFE works...

Can you add names to a Trust/Corporation after it has been created to allow others to use it/store it?
