    Ok, specs first:

    AMD Athlon XP 3200+, completely stock, no OC
    PcChips W30 mobo
    1GB no-name value ram
    PNY FX5700 256MB

    Problem... just for fun and yucks last night i downloaded an app called Speedfan. Its similar to Motherboard Monitor in that it just keeps track of temps and the like. Even tho it didnt have my mobo available in its list, it still displayed temps... and my cpu temps were 55*C at idle.

    I've not been into OC or anything more than just building this pc, so i dont know if thats good, bad, or otherwise. I suppose it could also be possible that those results are completely FUBARd because i couldnt select my mobo, and therefore its reporting back bogus things.

    Thanks in advance for any input.

    I've never trust SpeedFan fully.
    Try Everest Home Edition http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
    Computer->Sensor
    Also check the BIOS and see what they say, after the system has been up for a while of course.

    i'll check that one out. i realized that without properly configuring it, of course it wouldnt give me the correct readouts. and since my mobo isnt supported, i'm SOL.
