A thread at Freshalloy had some new rumors/info: http://forums.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=181464

It links to this site: http://news.feelcars.com/20080130/c200111960.shtml

And the site features these pics.

The artist renderings look familiar. I think they may have been around for a while, dating back possibly as far as '06. The actual photos are probably new, but may/may not be actual V-Specs.

Weight is listed at 1640kgs, or ~3600lbs, a nice 200lb reduction over the standard car. That about the same weight as a Terminator Cobra.

Power is 520ps, which converts to ~513hp. It could be just rated power. Given the Motor Trend dyno article, we can be sure the car will have much more than that. Given the estimate of between 540-570 flywheel horsepower by Motor Trend, the V-Spec could be making anywhere from the mid 500s to nearly 600hp.

At this rate, they won't need a NISMO version. :mamoru:

Can't tell if there's any word on price. Top Gear had an estimated percentage increase, which would have the V-Spec going in the low $10xk range. Not far off from a base 997 GT3, but still well shy of a GT2's pricetag and possibly beyond its performance.

Cliffs: GT-R V-Spec could be very fast, but could also have its work cut out dealing with the supercharged, 620hp C6 ZR-1. :hsughno:

If I had cash, I would get one in a heartbeat. In fact, I would not mind having the Z06, GTR, or Porsche. Either one will do.

V-Spec's have always been about slightly lighter hasn't it? NISMO version would probably be the one to compete with ZR-1

i know it's probably impossible, but something in the 3200-3400 lb range would be unstoppable :eek3:

either way, dropping a couple hundred is always a good thing.

Ehhhh...we'll see. About the only hint of performance so far is a 7'24" lap at the 'Ring...which is barely behind a Zonda F Clubsport(with mechanical trouble).

That's probably the V-Spec's main target. The GT-R set out to take on the 911. It's beaten the Turbo and held its own against the GT3. The V-Spec goes after the GT2, I guess. :dunno:
