My first attempt at this. Only PP was I increased the black and clarity in light room. Resized of course. Did I even get close to something nice.

I think it'd be way cooler if there was more light, especially on the left. She looks scary with that darkness.

Not bad, but I don't think that kind of look works well for a child. When you think child you think happy, carefree, fun, etc. That look doesn't convey any of that.

I don't understand the half lit face portraits that OTAP seems to like. :dunno:

I know that 80% of the time when I do it its a mistake :dunno: Easy to put a light up camera right and fire away. It does have it's place but in general I doubt it's intentional.

Just a white card or a reflector would've done enough for the left side. Her eye looks completely black

Not a fan of the lighting. It makes me think that she'd be on one of those Montel "look at my child's disfigurment" episodes with the Phantom of the Opera face hiding light. The eyes look black and almost zombie like to me, which just isn't what you want to do with a child. I don't know, it just makes me feel uneasy.

I think this light would have been cool with another subject, older, or maybe "darker" like a hot goth chick, but not a kid. Sorry... lol
