Hey guys I have a home PC with all the bits and pieces on it and I have a portable 160GB Hard Drive (western digital) that I have in a case so I can take it anywhere etc, as you do.

I used to be able to turn it on and it would boot up within about 10 seconds, but now when I turn it on, it seems to take ages just to boot up into my pc.

I turn it on now and it takes a good 1/2 hour for it to boot up.

Is there anything that I can do to try and fix it or is a connection stuffed.

    Your help would be appreciated.

    cheers guys

    Mick

    Have you tried defraging it?

    How do I defrag it?

I defrag my main PC regularly, but since this HD is not actually formatted as such I dont' know how to or even if you can?

It just has my files on there nothing more...
