Port Scanning on Local Computer Utility Suggestion Needed

    Hi All,

I'm looking for a utility that will scan MY local computer that shows what ports are currently open. I am running windows XP pro on one computer and Windows 2000 pro on another.

Your suggestions would be highly appreciated!

    Thanks!

if its your local computer, why not just use netstat. Start->run->netstat

"netstat -an" will tell you what ports are being used and what IP address they're communicating with. If you can't get it to work, chances are a virus has corrupted the file so you can't use it to figure out what's going on.

    I second NMap. http://www.insecure.org/nmap/

Never used the windows version, but when I compile the source tree on MacOS X and Debian it works just fine.
