Porsche 911 turbo vs Ferrari 360 Modena

Driving down GA-400 today on the way back from my g/f's house, a 360 Modena merged onto the interstate. It was about 55deg out, so the turbos were really efficient.

We roll along side each other at around 65-70mph. Both of us give a thumbs up. I "goose" the throttle a little and he takes the hint. I see/hear him downshift and I do the same. He punches it and I go as well. A slight hesitation has us even, but I soon start to pull as we wind out 3rd gear and shift to 4th.

I know that my car traps at 116mph (last time I went to the 1/4 mile strip) in 80deg weather. I am sure that it was a few mph faster in 55deg weather. I believe that 360 Modenas are in the 112-114mph area.

I put a few cars on him and let off. It was definitely fun. I am not 2-0 vs Ferraris as of late.

I would rather have a Porsche anyway. :hs:

  12. Porsche still looks like a bug

Good cars, but if I got one free I'd sell it and buy a different car :)

Such as a Lotus Espirit...or NSX... or used '89 Anniversary Countach.

so yeah, something about the track, and keeping it there... I mean... you wouldn't want to accidently cause a crash and t-bone some poor soul.

That's all he should care about, impressing you. He sucks at life, I guess.

I feel the same about Ferraris. One of my good friends has an F355 and the novelty wears off after about 15 minutes.

Not I. Then again, one would have to drive both in order to tell. :) I have a feeling that many have never driven a Porsche turbo, much less a Ferrari.

i mean they are fun as SHIT to drive and i've driven everything from a carrera 4s up to a carrera gt, but its just something about ferrari thats i've always liked more :dunno:

the main this i dislike about porsche is that a GT2 and a pain old carrera are identical bodys with a few different things
