it may not seem like a big deal. but i have gotten pretty hooked on porn recently. i whack off to porn at least 2 times a day but usually like 4 times. pictures hardly even do it for me anymore, only movies do the trick. i tried to go a day without it and i was too damn weak to last a whole day. i dont know how to stop, i hate being like this, i cant control myself at all. any suggestions?

Why are you wearing that stupid man
I'm addicted to anything that's addicting. When it came to porn, I just had to throw it all away and stay away completely. It helps that I have a boyfriend who I can have sex with every night before bed too.

Too much porn is like spending too much time playing video games, gambling, drinking, etc. An escape from reality. Its usually a way off shutting out the outside world. If you are really concerned maybe you might consider that you may be stressed or depressed. Get some exercise, then do something to relax (besides fiddling).

This is a tough issue for a lot of recovering addicts or addicts-in-denial. Many of us have differing opinions on what is addiction and many of us will claim that unlike drugs, sexual release is somewhat natural and needs to be done in moderation. I leave it up to you to find your own definition of healthy sexual behavior. If you find yourself unable to live up to these standards, then the same 12 steps of recovery used in other "anonymous" programs can be applied...

for example, step 1 admits that your life is unmanageable and pornography presents a problem for you that you can't control

    etc

So, define what you believe to be healthy. No porn? No masturbation? Some amounts of masturbation?

A lot of anonymous programs tend to also emphasize a trigger addiction that can be completely eliminated (overeaters anonymous does this I believe)... so while eating isn't the problem in and of itself, eating to escape depression or drinking does. etc...

you may want to check SLAA out, SA, and OA for advice on how to deal with an addiction to something that arguably can't be completely eliminated in one's life.

Good luck, feel free to hit me up on AIM or post more in this thread.

yeah i am extremely stressed out right now (if you go to my thread in the asylum called "i got myself into a bit of a pickle you can see why im stressed) and i have been using that to relieve stress. when ever i feel like i cant handle it or i need to calm down i take out my tally whacker and tell it whos boss. i used to just do it because im a guy and its fun but now i do it to make myself feel better but i never actually do.

I'd recommend finding a more healthy outlet for your stress. Perhaps even considering seeing a counselor. :)
