Recently a coworker of mine (He is a terrorist from Pakistan) invited me out to a fancy wine / food fundraiser polo match. It was pretty clutch walking around with my 70-200 with hood left me go ahead and wonder around the field and the VIP area with no harassment.

I soon learned how ever, a 200mm is not nearly enough for a polo field which is more than 3 football fields.

So these are nothing spectacular, they are pretty much the first full day I spent out with the D700.. learning how she shoots.

    C&C Welcome

The following is a tribute to L33tPilot.
Actually I accidentally dunno how, put the camera in the wrong WB (tungson) and was not shooting raw... so after I realized no mater how good my slider levels are in LR and PS no way were they savable in normal color... so I figured I would bust out some goofy presets. no C&C really neaded here I know they are bad.

#11 might have rocked if the hooves of horse weren't cut off.

    Something like that.

Yeah #11 would have been better had I not chopped off the feet. Again first polo match so I had no idea wtf I was doing or where things were headed from moment to moment. I can't wait till the end of the month, I plan on renting a 400 or 600mm lens so I can get some close up action shots. I also after looking at the full set I shot realize what has potential and what is rubish to shoot, so I can optimize my shooting next time.

I wish #9 was cropped tighter. I really like it otherwise.

Yeah so do I, an issue I have not had before was with it being mid day and my targets (and friend) wearing white, exposing the picture was sort of blowing out their shirts. So if I digitally cropped it tighter the edges start to look a little funky.

I definitely need to rent a longer lens for next time, so I can get that night full image of the action with out needing to crop the fuxk out of it (esp cuz I hate working in LR and doing any PP work).
