All that you need to do it take the occupational patches and the rank off, correct? can you still leave the name tapes on (name and branch of service)?

i really have no idea. i have plenty of BDU tops i'll be rocking when i'm out in less than two months though :wavey:

I know I read somewhere where you have to take off the service tag.

I dont think it matters, not like the uniform police is gonna come after you. I think name tape and branch is fine. Aside from paintball or hunting, why would you wanna look like a toolbag wearing BDU's around?

as long as you dont put stuff on there you didnt earn i think it's fine. just like with medals, you can wear them as civilian, but if you put like a MoH around your neck, you can get in trouble.

edit: might be some loopholes though... i think they could get you if you are < your 8 years but out (since you are technically still under contract), or >20 and collecting retirement pay. don't see what they could legally do to you though from 8-19 years though.
